This handcuff key is stored inconspicuously on a belt keeper (with snaps) and designed to remain hidden there to allow an escape if restrained by their own handcuffs. Serrated edges may also assist in cutting duct tape or similar improvised restraints. Also serves as a "backup" handcuff key if you happened to leave your primary one on the ring hanging from your patrol car's ignition.
