PRIVACY

When we discovered many websites will sell any information they can get their hands on, we wondered whether we could sum ours up in one sentence, "We will not give your information to anybody for any reason." Then we realized that we have to provide your shipping address to a common carrier, such as UPS, to deliver your order. This, and other instances where your information must be shared, has required us to be a little more specific.

National Police Supply values the trust you place in us, and is committed to doing everything possible to protect its customers' information. With that in mind, here is the (not so) fine print:

Information Collection and Use

National Police Supply, LLC is the sole owner of information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to any outside parties, except as outlined in this policy. We collect information from our customers to process orders and better serve you with pertinent information, such as order confirmations and order status updates. Information collected includes your name, shipping address, billing address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, and payment information such as your credit card number. You may also optionally submit a username and password of your choice for your future access to your account information. To safeguard that your user name and password remain confidential, do not share this information with anyone. If you elect to receive special offers, your contact information will be used for the delivery of these items.

In order to process your orders placed on this website, you must first complete the registration form during a secure, encryped session. During registration, you will be required to provide your contact information, which includes your name, e-mail address, telephone number and street address. The information collected in the registration process will be used to process orders. During the order process, you will have to provide financial information such as your credit card number, and expiration date, to fulfill your order. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this contact information to get in touch with you. To properly process your credit card information, we must share your personal and financial information with our merchant bank for authorization and approval. This process is protected by an enhanced security system. See the Security section for more details on security measures and procedures. We do not share your personal and financial information with any third parties, except those specified in the Sharing section of this policy.

Sharing

We may employ third party companies to perform functions on our behalf. These functions may include order fulfillment, package delivery, postal and e-mail delivery, data analysis, and credit processing. The third parties we contract for these purposes have limited access to your personal information and may not use it for other purposes. We DO NOT share any information with third parties for marketing purposes.

If required by law, we may provide any and all information we have about you to law enforcement or other government agencies, pursuant to a subpoena, warrant, or other order by a court of competent jurisdiction. In all cases, we will require written documentation of the request, proof of the identity of the law enforcement official making the request, and we will take steps to authenticate the validity of the request. Any law enforcement or government agency request submitted with less than a court-issued order will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis according to the need and urgency, as well as the particular law enforcement agency making the request.

Cookies

A cookie is a block of text placed in a file on the user's hard drive by a Web site you have visited. These types of cookies cannot identify an individual user specifically, such as by name or address, unless the cookie data is attached to personally identifiable information such as online registration. National Police Supply uses cookies to observe our site visitor's navigation throughout the site. This helps us identify ways to improve the shopping experience.

National Police Supply also uses a session cookie, which is a piece of identification between your browser and our server, which helps to do things like keep track of the items in a user's shopping cart, and other information. The shopping cart cookie is saved for a designated period of time in case the users' session expires or they return to complete a purchase within that time frame.

Since cookies only contain text, they cannot transmit a virus or damage your system. The sole purpose of storing cookies is to remember information about your web-cart and to make online shopping easier. If you prefer not to accept cookies, you may have to call or fax us to place your order.

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information, and we do not distribute or share IP information with any third parties.

If you are under age 13, you are welcome to browse our website. However, you are not permitted to use any of the features of our site that require the collection of any personally identifiable information.

In accordance with federal law, we will not knowingly or intentionally collect personal information via the Internet from children under the age of 13.
